NSGEU Scholarships

Canadian Women in Municipal Government Scholarship

This scholarship is open only to young women students who are enrolled in a Canadian secondary school. The student can be in any year of study in secondary school. applicants should be students who are making a contribution to their school's leadership teams or student councils. Must submit cover letter, essay, and two written references.

This is a scholarship for Engineering Students in Atlantic Canada. To be eligible for this award, applicants must be graduating from an Atlantic Canadian High School in June and entering their first year of full-time studies in an Engineering Program at a University in Atlantic Canada the following September. Debut Atlantic Award for Musical Excellence





Awarded annually to an Atlantic Canadian high school music student as chosen by a member of Debut Atlantic's distinguished alumni. The award recognizes talented youth who are committed to the serious study of music. Fisheries and Aquaculture Student Bursary Program

The Fisheries and Aquaculture Student Bursary Program aims to help Nova Scotia fill the labour gap for aquaculture, seafood buying and seafood processing facilities.The program also introduces students to aquaculture and the seafood sector as viable career options.

Preference will be given to daughters or sons of ordained clergy, licensed elementary or secondary school teachers, Canadian military personnel, graduates of a Canadian Military College, members of the Engineering Institute of Canada and members of the Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Canada. Preference is also given to those who have previously received an award from The Leonard Foundation. Successful applicants are expected to obtain employment during free time to help defray the costs of their education. In addition, they must participate regularly in athletic, fitness or military activities. Personal qualities showing a potential for leadership are also a requirement.

Awarded to a graduating Dartmouth East Riding student who has been involved in at least 2 of the following: Model Parliament, Student Government, political involvement (preferably Liberal or Municipal) in the community, or involvement in socially minded community efforts.

Canadian Right of Way Education Foundation Scholarship

This award, in the form of post-secondary entrance scholarship, recognizes individuals in amateur hockey who have demonstrated a passion for sportsmanship, learning, leadership and community.
Applicant must be registered during current playing season with Hockey Nova Scotia or NSSAF (hockey) as a member in good standing as either a player or on-ice official.
